Why You Should Go With Ravin R26?

If you are choosing R26, you are expecting it to be good. It is good. There are tons of advantages to this crossbow. Ravin R26 is one of the most compact crossbows on the market. It’s quite lightweight and easy to use. If you are hunting in a jungle filled with trees, it can come in handy. You can squeeze inside places that were impossible to get your crossbow through before.

Ravin R26 is also one of the most accurate crossbows Ravin ever made. The price-tag of the Ravin R26 is lower than R29. Ravin R26 is capable of firing arrows at an incredible 400 FPS. Each of those shots packs a whopping 142 ft-lbs of kinetic energy. As Ravin uses silent cranking aid, you can load the crossbow with mere 12lbs of drawing force.

Why With Ravin R29 Instead?

Ravin R29 right now is one of the best crossbows on the market. Until we are talking about Ravin 500E, Ravin R29 is the best crossbow Ravin ever made. A true successor of Ravin R20, it’s packed with features. It’s also one of the fastest crossbows Ravin ever made. Ravin R29 is capable of firing arrows at 430 FPS. It’s 30 FPS higher than Ravin R26. Which is the paper isn’t that big of a deal. But it makes the difference in a real-life hunting scenario.

Ravin R29 is a tad bit longer than Ravin R26. It’s not that big of a deal. Some of you might like the longer crossbow more. As the crossbow is a bit longer, naturally the power stroke is also longer. Thanks to that, it can generate an incredible 164 ft-lbs of kinetic energy. Which is the highest any Ravin R series crossbow has been able to pull. Don’t take that lightly, you can kill a bear with that much energy.

Ravin R26 Crossbow Problems

The main problem of Ravin R26 for me is the speed. Don’t get me wrong, 400 FPS is still higher than most of the crossbows on the market. But at this price range, Excalibur is offering crossbows that can fire over 440 FPS.

In that regard, this is a con of the crossbow. Besides this, I don’t have much to nitpick about this crossbow. I like how short it is and how well it feels in the hand.

Ravin R29 Crossbow Problems

If it wasn’t for that price-tag, I would declare it to be the crossbow to get. Even after almost 2 years, it reigns supreme. Many crossbows tried to replicate what Ravin R29 did. Some managed to, some were a disappointment.

The biggest disappointment for me was the price-tag. For that price, you can get crossbows that can fire for over 450 FPS. Ravin should have done something to avoid this issue. Besides this, I don’t think you have anything to complain about the bow.

Ravin R26 vs R29 Summary

Depending on which one you prefer, you can call one the Godzilla and the other King Kong. If they were to battle head to head, of course, Ravin R29 would win. It’s simply the better crossbow.

If the price tag isn’t a concern for you. Then you already know your Godzilla.

This is me rooting for team Zilla. Anyway, I hope you found this comparison guide helpful. If you did, you know which one to get between Ravin R26 vs Ravin R29. Do let me know which team you are part of. Till next time.
