Wicked Ridge crossbows is fairly new brand in the crossbow game. In the year 2010, Wicked Ridge was invented as an expansion of Tenpoint crossbows. Their goal was to provide made in America budget crossbows to every hunter. We all know just how expensive an American made crossbow can be.
Wicked Ridge’s goal was to lower that price and give quality products. Have to admit they did it splendidly. 10 years isn’t a long time for a crossbow manufacturer. You can’t forget Tenpoint was founded over 27 years ago. Tenpoint overlooks Wicked Ridge. Rest assured, you never need to worry about the quality.
History & Heritage
Sadly, Wicked Ridge don’t have a rich history to glorify their existence. They were founded by hunting experts from Tenpoint. The vision became reality and the rest is history. Even with a small timeframe, Wicked Ridge made a lot of fans. Their crossbows reached a lot of hunters and introduced a lot of new hunters to the scene.
As of now, Wicked Ridge doesn’t have any other sub brands to carry their legacy. Who knows when that changes.
Wicked Ridge Technologies
Wicked Ridge uses all Tenpoint technologies. They don’t have their own technologies to back up their crossbows, yet. The keyword here is yet. They are working on changing that. However, you don’t need to feel discouraged. Tenpoint crossbows has a ton of technologies that will keep you busy for days.
Safe-Decocking: Each year, we see a ton of newbies visiting the hospital due to accidents related to crossbows. One of the main reasons behind that is decocking a crossbow. If the crossbow doesn’t feature a safe method to decock the crossbow, then you will find yourself in a lot of trouble. It’s always a safe measure to face the crossbow downwards while loading and unloading it. Safe-decocking by Tenpoint is one of the best methods of cocking and decoking a crossbow.
Patented reverse draw technology: Wicked Ridge has a patented design for their crossbows. Spoiler, most of the wicked ridge crossbows are reverse draw. We all know reverse draw crossbows are quite expensive. Wicked Ridge made a huge change in that. If you want a cheap reverse draw crossbow, don’t need to look further.
Wicked Ridge Accessories
Like every other crossbow manufacturer, Wicked Ridge also makes accessories for their crossbows. One of the best things about Wicked Ridge crossbows is, they can easily support Tenpoint accessories.
Bolts: Wicked Ridge makes special crossbow bolts for their crossbows only. You can use those bolts in cheaper crossbows as well. But you may not receive the result you were hoping for.
Broadheads helps a lot during hunting and fishing. The head of the broadheads is shaped to stay inside the flesh of the prey. You later need to pull it off or cut it off from the flesh inside. That’s the benefit of this wonderful arrowheads. Hunting is much easier with broadheads.
Scopes: As Wicked Ridge also uses the universally supported picatinny rail, they can support almost any scopes you put on the crossbow. For their crossbow, they also have some after market scopes that performs better than the ones included. If you want, then you can upgrade to them down the line if you want.
Case: Carrying cases are a must for a crossbow. Without them you will end up damaging your board much faster than you anticipated. To keep the bow safe and sound, you must buy a carrying case. Whether it’s a hard shell or a soft one, a carrying case is necessary.
1. Wicked Ridge NXT 400 Crossbow Package

The narrowest and the most accurate Wicked Ridge crossbow by far. Wicked Ridge experiments a lot with their crossbow. There is nothing wrong in doing such. They didn’t achieve this great feat within days. Took them years to perfect their crossbow. But I am glad they did.
As you can guess it’s not the least expensive Wicked Ridge on the market. Don’t worry, they are still quite affordable. And the feature they are packing for the money is quite insane as well.
400 FPS. If you are like me and read/watch a ton of crossbow reviews, then you already know 400 FPS isn’t the fastest crossbow on the market. You also know, it’s not a speed to be taken lightly. More than enough for everyday hunting and big-game competitions.
Quad limbs reverse draw technology. The bow uses Vector-Quad limb technology. Instead of two limbs like regular crossbow, it uses 4 limbs and the drawing style is reversed. Making it lighter and more compact than an average bow.
ACUdraw Cranking Device. ACUdraw is one of the most loved cranking devices made by any manufacturer. Yes, I know Tenpoint is the one that made this. Did you forget, Tenpoint owns Wicked Ridge?

Name game of Wicked Ridge might be not on par with other crossbows such as Killer Instinct. Don’t confuse the RDX for the NXT. They are two different crossbows came out at a different time. RDX 400 was one considered to be one of the best value for money reverse draw crossbow in 2020.
Reverse draw Vector-Quad limbs. Like other Wicked Ridge crossbows, the RDX400 also features Quad-Vector reverse draw limbs.
400 FPS is getting the new standard and I am loving it. It’s about time we should consider 370-400FPS the new mainstream. It’s more than enough for daily hunting and big-game hunting. You will have speed for days.
ACUdraw technology. One of the best cranking device technology available for you to purchase. ACUdraw will make your hunting easier and more enjoyable. Enjoy hunting like never before.
Lightweight. The weight on reverse draw crossbows are quite low compared to regular crossbows. It’s due the building techniques of the bow.
Good scope included. It’s a statement that we don’t often see in budget crossbows. Companies tend to cheap out on the scope. As it’s quite easy to replace them for good scopes from the manufacturer.
Quick Facts:
It’s a great reverse draw crossbow for the money. It’s not even that old. Definitely a banger of a crossbow.
Pros
- Lightweight.

- 400 FPS.

3. Wicked Ridge Invader 400 Crossbow Package

Wicked Ridge Invader 400 is the successor of much appreciated Wicked Ridge Invader X4. Earlier we talked about just how good the X4 was. You take the X4 and improve all the things present on that crossbow including the speed, you get the Invader 400.
400FPS. As the name suggests, the crossbow is capable of reaching 400 FPS at ease. It’s a shame Tenpoint measures the speed with different arrows. Still, it’s quite easily achievable. You don’t need to do anything special with the crossbow.
140ft-lbs of kinetic energy. The raw strength of this crossbow is something else. Generating 140ft-lbs of kinetic energy is no easy feat to reach.
ACUdraw compatible. Just like all the other Wicked Ridge crossbow, the Invader 400 is also compatible with ACUdraw cranking device. It will make the draw weight of the crossbow much lower. It will be easier for young and newbie hunters to load the crossbow. If you are a female hunter or looking for a crossbow suitable for female hunter, this can be an excellent choice. The power stroke is quite small as well.
Quick Facts:
The feature it packs is admirable. You don’t often see successors improving that much on its predecessors. I am glad Wicked Ridge didn’t slack out on this. If you are a fan of the invader series, you will love this crossbow to the bits.

Don’t worry, we got a lot of them more coming. If you were looking for even cheaper option with fairly decent speed. Then the M370 is the one you are looking for. It’s not as fast as the other two. It’s still fast for competition hunting and daily hunting.
370 FPS. I know this is not the fastest Wicked Ridge crossbow. Not all crossbow needs to be super-fast. Even in 2021, we still recommend crossbows with 280 FPS or lower. Why is that? The crossbow has practical value and use that exceeds the speed remark. Same case here. M370 is a versatile crossbow with low trigger creep and draw weight. It also has an attractive price tag.
118ft-lbs of kinetic energy. While buying a budget crossbow, we often overlook the power of that crossbow. You don’t need to do that here. Wicked Ridge M370 is powerful enough for anything you want to do with a crossbow. As long as you are not doing something illegal or try to kill a large animal, the crossbow will be fine.
Extremely lightweight. The weight of the M370 is only 5.8lbs. That’s extremely lightweight for a crossbow. You can carry it entire day without feeling tired even a single bit. Props to Wicked Ridge for making such a light crossbow yet a fierce one.

Wicked Ridge Rampage may not help you to get a rampage in your favorite MOBA, it will surely help you get preys on the field. Rampage 360 is an entry level crossbow targeted towards newbie and young hunters.
360 FPS. It’s more than enough for a young hunter or a newbie. You don’t need more than 360 FPS to experience a fully-fledged crossbow. Fun fact, this crossbow can easily qualify for big-game hunting as well. For deer hunting, Rampage 360 is perfect.
112ft-lbs of kinetic energy. Usually, the manufacturers tend to make the crossbow less powerful to not slack on other part of the crossbow. On a beginner crossbow, I support this movement as well. It’s safer to use an underpowered crossbow for someone who never touched a crossbow before.
Safety should be one of the top priorities on a crossbow. Especially, when you are giving this to a newbie, they won’t have the time to go through the entire manual and learn every nook and cranny of the bow before shooting. Don’t worry, the Rampage comes with safe cocking and shooting. You won’t have any issues while decoking the crossbow or dry firing it.
Quick Facts:
It’s a great beginner crossbow. Veterans may find the crossbow a little too underpowered. But that’s acceptable.

Wicked Ridge Invader X4 is one of the most loved Invader of all time. The idea behind Invader series was to provide good crossbows for beginners. That’s why the Invader series is not reverse draw like most other Wicked Ridge crossbows. Invader X4 is the upgraded Invader and one of the lightest crossbows in this lineup as well.
360 FPS. The crossbow is capable of reaching up to 360 FPS. For an entry level crossbow, that’s more than acceptable speed. You can do hunting to competition shooting and have fun with friends on range as well. Whatever you have on your mind, you can do that easily.
112ft-lbs of kinetic energy. Some of you may think it’s not that much. For others, it’s more than enough. It’s definitely enough for casual and competitive hunting. While you could hope to get a more powerful crossbow, you shouldn’t overlook the Invader X4 either.

7. Wicked Ridge Ultra-Lite Crossbow Package
Specifications | Speed: 350 FPS; Kinetic Energy: 105 ft.lbs; Power Stroke: 13.5 Inches; Draw Weight: 150 LBS; Axle To Axle: 15 / 19 Inches; Length: 36.5 Inches; Weight: 6 LBS.
The last crossbow on the list is the cheapest crossbow on the least. Saved the best for the last? No, not really. It’s not the best Wicked Ridge by any means. One of the best? Sure, we can say that. But why? How could you call a 350 FPS crossbow one of the best?
Let me tell you. Speed isn’t everything on a crossbow. If the power of that crossbow is lacking and the build quality is garbage, speed alone can’t redeem a crossbow.
The Build Quality on the Ultra-Lite is quite good. You wouldn’t expect this small crossbow to be this strong in performance and in body materials.
350 FPS. Precisely, the crossbow is capable of reaching up to 350 FPS. I know it’s not the fastest and it’s not even part of the fast-Wicked Ridge line up. Do tell me, will you take a crossbow from a reputable brand that can hit every shot at 350 FPS or a non-trusted brand claim to reach 400 FPS every shot? Quite easy decision if you ask me.
105ft-lbs of kinetic energy. Barely passing the 100ft-lbs mark the Ultra-Lite is capable of doing light and moderate hunting. Don’t expect it to do heavy lifting. That’s out of its forte.
Quick Facts:
It’s cheap, it’s built good, and it comes with warranty. Actual warranty that will get your bow fixed if you face any issues.
Pros
- Cheap.
- Good build quality.
- Moderately fast and powerful.

Frequently ASK Questions
Are Wicked Ridge Crossbows Good?
Yes, they are pretty good. You can see from the reviews just how good they perform on hunting and other crossbow related shooting as well. But if you want these crossbows to perform like a $3000 crossbow, then you will be disappointed. The difference between those and these crossbows are miles apart.
How To Use Wicked Ridge Crossbow?
Like a regular crossbow. There isn’t any special rituals you need to perform before using the crossbow. Sure, the lord may get pleased by some sacrifices. Wait, I am sounding like a cult leader. Jokes aside, just like a regular crossbow, you can just setup the crossbow, load a bolt, aim down sight, and shoot. See the crossbow do its magic.
How To Cock A Wicked Ridge Crossbow?
Most of the time, Wicked Ridge crossbows will come with ACUdraw cranking device or ACUdraw 50 rope sled. With the cranking device, you need to use the lever to pull back the string to the latch, load the crossbow and done. With the rope cocker, you need to put the rope through the bowstring, use the hooks on the sled to pull the string upwards. Lock the string on the latch and load the bolt. There you go, one cocked Wicked Ridge crossbow coming up.
How To Decock A Wicked Ridge Crossbow?
Do the opposite of cocking. To explain it a bit, release the latch, and use the rope cocker to hold the string from hitting the arms. Slowly lower the string as you progress and let the string hit slowly. Don’t dry fire your crossbows. It will damage the limbs of the crossbow.
How To Shoot A Wicked Ridge Crossbow?
After you cocked the crossbow, aim on the desired target and make sure your hands are steady. If you have shaky hands like me, then a crossbow bipod/tripod will come in handy. It will keep the front of the crossbow straight for you. Make sure you are seeing the target through your reticle and boom shoot.
How To Sight In A Wicked Ridge Crossbow?
Just like you would do it on any bow, you need to sight in the crossbow at 20yards. Crossbows aren’t known for their range or extreme power. You should avoid long-range shooting with crossbows whenever you can. That’s why every professional recommend you to sight in the bow at 20 yards. Gradually sight in the other dots from that point. But start at 20.
How To Quiet A Wicked Ridge Crossbow?
Wicked Ridge crossbows are fairly loud. They don’t come with that many noise suppressions on their CAM or the limbs. There aren’t any string stoppers on the crossbows either. That’s why, you need to take matters on your hand for this. You should buy string dampeners and then limb dampeners for extra noise cancellation. If you can install string stoppers on the bow, go the extra mile and do that.
It will reduce the vibration and the noise of the bow by a lot.
